Paestum Project: 2012 – 2015. The aim of this interdisciplinary work is the integration of different 3D recording techniques and instruments to survey the archaeological area of Paestum (UNESCO World Heritage list since 1998) in Italy and obtain digital models of the main structures and temples of the site. The work was developed with the 3DOM Unit, Bruno Kessler Foundation, Trento, Italia in collaboration with the University of Salerno (Italy), the Archaeological superintendence for the provinces of Salerno, Avellino, Benevento and Caserta, the National archaeological museum of Paestum and 3D Target. Aerial and terrestrial photogrammetry as well as different types of terrestrial laser scanners are employed and combined in order to produce photo-realistic 3D models useful for architectural analyses, visualization and digital preservation.
